The Earliest Booklets

Prior to the first full book being published in 1995, several booklets had been printed by devotees of Guru Maharaja's classes, as well as booklets for special occasions such as the opening of the Krishna Balaram Temple. Here are some examples of early booklets (below... both 'Guru Tattva' and 'Nama Aparadha and Jiva Tattva' were published by Sri Nimai Pandit das Prabhuji, who went on to found and run Tattva-vichar Publications).

Sri Guru Vandana

The first book officially published of Srila Gurudeva's lectures, entitled 'Sri Guru-vandana', was published in 1995 by Gopaljiu Publications, which was originally set up and organzied with great enthusiasm by Sri Raghava Pandit das prabhuji. Since then, Gopaljiu Publications and Tattva-vichar Publications have, between them, published 20 books of the compiled teachings from our Guru Maharaja's lectures, along with biographies, several magazines, countless booklets and an assortment of other published material.

Niami Pandit das Prabhu and Manjumedha devi dasi have been running Tattva-vichar Publications for several decades. Their Magnum Opus is the official biography of our beloved Spiritual Master HDG Sri Srimad Gour Govinda Swami Maharaja, entitled Krsnalingita-vigraha, of which four volumes are currently available, though many more volumes are on their way! Vrindavan 1975This small book is a humble offering for the celebration of Śrī Śrīmad Gour Govinda Swami Mahārāja’s 40th sannyāsa anniversary. He took sannyāsa from His Divine Grace Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda in the year 1975, during the grand festival of the opening of the Śrī Śrī Kṛṣṇa-Balarāma Temple in Vrindavan.

Mayapura 1979This small book places us in Māyāpura 1979, just prior to the Gaura Purnima Festival of that year. In a room of a building on the ISKCON property, a sannyāsī, a disciple of Śrīla AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, was in a deep trance, barely breathing; displaying many amazing transformations. This book avails to us some of those symptoms, which were not really known and understood by the general devotees then and in many cases are not known now.

The Glories of Sri Bhubaneswar and Bindu-sarovaraŚrīla Prabhupāda did not think to build a temple in Jagannātha Purī. He wanted to construct one at the entrance, in Bhuvaneśvara Dhāma. This is significant. Mahāprabhu entered Śrī-kṣetra through this same gate. He visited the Liṅgarāja Temple of Lord Śiva. He and the devotees did kīrtana and danced there. They bathed in Bindu-sarovara, the place where Śivajī called all the celestial rivers to gather. Mahāprabhu taught how Lord Śiva is a great devotee. Śiva is kṣetra-pāla, the guardian of the dhāma. Before entering, you must see him and ask his permission. Otherwise you cannot enter. So one should beg his permission. And Śivajī will welcome the devotee with folded hands, saying, ‘Please come and see Jagannātha.’”

Madhavananda das prabhu teamed up with Raghava Pandit das prabhu to work on the first books published by Gopaljiu Publications back in the 1990s. Shortly afterward Gopaljiu Publications became his project, and as the director and publisher he has printed many books since then. Published by Srimati Sadhika devi dasi, Sri Dina Syama das and other dedicated American disciples (using the name Sri Guru Nityananda Prabhu Publications) in 2002, 'Sri Guru Nityananda Prabhu and His Divine Mercy Manifestations' is a very large and sumptuous 'coffee table' book, boxed and with gold-leafed edges, containing some of our Gurudeva's most important discourses.

Krsna Prema Bhakti

Krsna Prema Bhakti was another early book of our Gurudeva's discorses, published in 1995 or 1996 and was the inspiration of Sri Jagadish Pandit das prabhu. (this cover is the reprint)
